Goods in Transit Insurance

Our Goods in Transit (GIT) insurance covers your items from the moment we collect them until they are safely delivered to their destination. This policy protects against loss, damage, or theft during transportation.

What is covered:

  • Accidental damage during loading, transit, and unloading
  • Loss or theft of goods while in our care
  • Damage caused by traffic accidents or vehicle incidents
  • Weather-related damage during transit

Important limitations:

  • Items must be properly packaged and secured for transport
  • High-value items may require additional coverage (please inform us at booking)
  • Fragile items must be declared and appropriately packaged
  • Perishable goods are covered for damage but not for spoilage due to delays

Public Liability Insurance

Our Public Liability insurance protects against third-party claims for injury or property damage that may occur during the course of our delivery operations.

Coverage includes:

  • Third-party bodily injury claims
  • Third-party property damage
  • Legal costs associated with covered claims
  • Accidental damage to customer premises during collection or delivery

Additional Coverage Options

For high-value shipments or items requiring specialist coverage, we can arrange additional insurance on request. Please contact us before booking if your shipment:

  • Has a value exceeding standard coverage limits
  • Contains fragile, antique, or irreplaceable items
  • Requires temperature-controlled transport
  • Includes hazardous or regulated materials

Making a Claim

In the unlikely event that you need to make a claim, please follow these steps:

  1. Report any damage or loss immediately upon delivery (or as soon as discovered)
  2. Take photographs of any damage to goods or packaging
  3. Contact us within 24 hours at contact@ccslogisticsltd.com or call 01454 603506
  4. Retain all original packaging until the claim is resolved
  5. Provide proof of value (invoice, receipt, or valuation)
